About the Spank-O-Matic MAX
The Spank-O-Matic MAX is a completely new design, building on my experience with the original Spank-O-Matic. Having addressed the "ease of positioning" question with the SOM Flexor, my objective in a new build was to deliver huge whacks... a Spank-O-Matic that can hit hard.
The MAX uses a retract-release system, drawing the paddles back against beefy springs. At a user-adjustable point, the retractors are disengaged, allowing the paddles to shoot forward towards the target. As with the original SOM core, the two paddles alternate, striking their respectivie buttocks in a left-right-left-right pattern.
The MAX's high tension springs require more power to draw, and the MAX features a motor delivering nearly twice the torque of the original Spank-O-Matic. It's still capable of the butt-blistering top speed of 80 strikes per minute, though! Speed is adjustable down to a crawl.. perhaps 5 strokes per minute.
SOM MAX breaks down for easy storage and transportation. The SOM MAX stand disassembles into four pieces. The MAX core also disassembles, with paddles and single-segment arms removable from the base unit. The core easily detaches from the MAX carriage. Fully collapsed, the SOM Max fits into a space roughly 24" x 18" x 12". Note that the MAX core does not fit in the Flexor carriage. However, the MAX carriage will fit on the Flexor stand base.
Spank-O-Matic MAX is designed and built for a lifetime of use. Construction features include:

MAX Controls and Flexibility
MAX provides complete control over the administered sensations. Spanks per minute are adjustable from about 5 to 80 SPM using a small hand control box. At 10 feet, the removable control cord is easily long enough for solo use. Striking power is determined by the point at which the retractor is disengaged. This point is adjustable by turning a hand knob, from roughly 20% to 100% of available power.
Unlike gravity, with spring power the weight of the paddle/arm determines the acceleration of the spanking arms. This observation provides a great opportunity to change the sensations MAX delivers. Two different sets of arms/paddles are available. The Sting set is light, providing high acceleration and speed to delivery a stinging surface blow. The Thud set (shown in pictures) is heavier, and hits with more force but less speed, resulting in a thuddier sensation. Each arm/paddle set includes a steel arm segment and your choice of oak or rubber paddle (both available for a given set, if desired). Note that the paddles from one set cannot be used with the other... in other words, you cannot attach the Sting paddles to the Thud arm.
