Fucking Machine Parts for the Do-It-Yourselfer

Whether for the satisfaction of building something with your own hands or compelled by a tight budget without compromising quality, quite a few people simply want to build their own sex machine. They may not, however, have a complete fabrication shop. Some fucking machine manufacturers seek to dissuade DIY folks from building their own sex machine. Well, I started as a DIY sex machine builder, and that turned out OK! If you have a creative bent, enjoy working with your hands, and have some basic building skills, I highly recommend you build a fucking machine.

Welcome to the largest selection of sex machine parts that I know of. Here you'll find all of the mechanical stuff you need to build the sex machine of your dreams, along with a bit of advice and commentary from Mr. Sex Machine himself ;) Many of these parts and components are the same high quality pieces used on fine handcrafted machines from Orgasm Alley, designs proven over more than a dozen years in the market with thousands of customers. These are parts you can trust. My objective is generally to provide the unique parts needed for a fucking machine build, while limiting cost to make it happen. When a good used or surplus option is possible -- such as motors -- I'll offer those at a significant dicount when I can. I've been selling parts to builders longer than I've been selling sex machines, and have helped hundreds upon hundreds of people build a fucking machine.

Please note that I am not in the business of "DIY sex machine builder training"! While I am happy to provide a bit of advice, I do not provide sex machine design or troubleshooting consultation.

Sex machine parts are either in-stock or fabricated on demand, and generally ship within a week of your order. Please review your order with care. Although I will inquire if you order parts that do not work with each other, sex machine parts may not be returned, and orders may not be cancelled once placed. If you have any questions, please do not hesitate to ask via email to paul@orgasmalley.com. I don't include pictures of motors, nor send them upon request. They're described with brutal honestly, and frankly I don't have enough margin on motors to spend that time.

The Big Picture View

It's important to understand the basic construction of a sex machine, and therefore the way these parts interact to make one function. Each machine requires four basic components -- powerline, motor, power transmission, and dildo system -- connected by a frame or body.

The Powerline connects wall power to the motor, providing a way to operate it and control its speed. The Complete Powerline below is a system I recommend, providing good control over speed and excellent torque in lower speed operation. This is the same powerline used in my commercial machines. A simple and inexpensive powerline can be made using the schematic at the bottom of this page. I really only recommend this approach for a first-time build, planning to upgrade once your concept has been tested.

The Motor is the heart of the machine, and determines its performance characteristics. Read the section below about "Selecting A Motor" for a bit more information. This is the most important component of your machine. I strongly prefer American made DC motors from the major manufacturers: Baldor, Bison, Bodine, Leeson (also makes Dayton brand). When possible, I source surplus and used motors with interesting specs and offer them on this page at a good price.

The Power Transmission converts the motor's rotary motion to linear movement and provides multiple stroke length options. Below you'll find two quite different styles, available as complete setups or individual parts. Review these diagrams for an overview of these two systems and their parts.

The dildo system, obviously enough, holds the dildo to the machine. Also in this category are other accessories... doubler (for two dildos), extensions (to move the dildo farther from the machine), and holders for other stuff. I do offer a range of these accessories including two dildo systems.. the standard system with platform arm and strap for dildos with a wide or flared base, and the Vac-U-Lock system for VUL dildos. Motor Terminology

Here's a quick rundown of some motor factoids that might be helpful to you. A general assessment of motor power is horsepower, officially 745.7 watts in the US and 550-foot pounds per second in the UK. The potentially useful range of motor horsepower starts at perhaps 1/50th -- although such a machine would be very limtied -- and goes to at least 1/4. More important is the combination of RPM and torque. The RPM, or revolutions per minute, determines the stroking speed of the machine, while the torgue indicates the sort of play and size of toy with which it will perform acceptably. If you see a motor taking in 60 watts (4 amps at 15 volts) with a claimed horsepower rating of 0.5 HP, that's total bunk... yes, that's the "Versa Fuk", folks. You get the lies for free. 60 watts is more like 1/15th of a horsepower, maximum.

For a sex machine, you want a gearmotor, a motor that directly drives a gear reduction system to provide a reduced output speed and increased torque. I cannot count the number of people who have tried building a sex machine from a treadmill motor... do not fall into this trap! Gearmotors come in two basic configurations. Parallel shaft gearmotors have the output parallel to the armature (or motor can), while in right angle motors the output shaft is at a right angle to the armature. Most parallel shaft motors are face mount, mounting with typically four bolts into the face of the motor, the same end the output shaft is on. Most right angle units are foot mount, with bolts running into the base of the gearbox. Some motors of either style incorporate a mounting plate from the motor can. There are occasionally face mount right angle motors, too.

An important measurement is the diameter of the output shaft, typically 1/2, 5/8, or 3/4 inch. This must match the mounting diameter of the offset pin arm or flywheel used with the motor. Output shafts generally have a keyway, and at least with my parts you will tighten a set screw into the keyway to hold the offset part in place. Some motors also or only have a flat on the shaft. In the torque range on a sex machine, we don't need to employ a key.

A motor's voltage is important in the selection or development of a power supply. I primarily offer motors rated for 90 to 130 volts DC. AC motors can certainly be used, but they are less efficient to control, and controls for them are more expensive. I occasionally have 12 VDC motors. These require a 12 volt power supply/control, logically enough. They may be run with the fan control circuit at the bottom of this page, as long as you add a 120:12 volt transformer after the rectifier/capacitor. You can hijack one from an old (not new) battery charger. If you're overseas in a country with 220 VAC power grid, you can either build a 110 VAC machine and employ a voltage converter, or you need a motor rated for 180-240 VDC. The Powerline control system below is excellent for either grid power (but not 12 volts), but must be matched to an appropriate motor.

A brief word about motor brands. First, there is absolutely no comparison between American and Chinese-made motors. Chinese motors run hot and poorly, have soft brushes, and are less efficient. They will happily burn up, especailly if stalled for any length of time. The only advantage is that they're cheap. Unless they're labeled for a US importer, such as Dayton (some motors only), they are almost always overrated, particularly in torque. The major American brands in sub-fractional gearmotors are Bodine, Baldor, and Leeson. Of these, Leeson motors tend to be higher performing units for a given horsepower, and are usually rated for 90 VDC with a "form factor" of 1.3... this means they can be safety overdriven by 30%, providing 30% more torque and speed than the nameplate listing. Bodine motors are of extremely high quality, and are the quietest motors available in my opinion. Baldor is also a quieter mtoor than the Leeson units, which are relatively noisy.

Finally, you will note that I do not generally have pictures of motors below. I price the used motors at a small markup, and it's frankly not worth my time to take and process pictures of them. Further, many motors I list are gone within a week. I apologize, but I also do not provide pictures on request. If you do see a motor you want, particularly if the listing does not indicate that I have multiples, and double-particularly if it is a larger higher torque motor, you might want to grab it. Such units do not last long, and it is always a struggle to find them in good condition at an attrictive price. Every used motor I sell is thoroughly tested and accurately described.

This American-made DC motor speed control includes everything required between household power socket and motor. High quality motor control, fully adjustable for both minimum speed and maximum speed. This control will overvolt most motors if desired, which is generally safe to about 1.3 times rated speed/voltage. IR COMP setting senses motor draw versus set speed, and feeds more power to motor when choking under load... this provides excellent low-speed performance in fucking machines. Control may be used with 90/130 VDC motors from 110/120 VAC power grid, or 180/240 VDC motors from 220/240 VAC power grid. Includes power cord, OrgasmAlley hand control with XLR plug, wired power and control jacks, blade connectors, wire nut for grounds. Instructions. This is a complete solution from wall to motor.

Powerline Enclosure

Mounting Enclosure for Powerline

High quality mounting enclosure for Complete Powerline above. Cast aluminum double-gang exterior-grade box with steel cover, modified to mount contol board and two jacks. This aluminum enclosure also provides heat sink capacity, increasing Powerline capability from 2A to 4A. Painted black, four screws that hold cover to box is the only included hardware. This component is identical to that used on many OA commercial machines, including Black Magic, Invader, Stallion.

LUTRON Control

LUTRON Control

Lutron 1.5 amp fully variable fan motor speed control, provides OK control over motor speed in DC units when coupled with rectifier/capacitor as shown at the bottom of this page. Not as precise as more complex units, far inferior to powerline 2 above. White knob, integrated on/off, high speed is to the left. Fits in a standard outlet box, cover plate (not included) requires 3/8" center hole. These units are new. NOT for use with motors exceeding 1/8 horsepower, do so at your own risk. Because these fan controls are intended for inductive loads, they are a far better choice than light dimmer controls. Use in conjunction with rectifier and capacitor. Most Home Depot type stores will sell you one of these a little cheaper.

Rectifier

Rectifier rated sufficiently for any sex machine build. Specific package may vary from that shown at left, and this piece may be new surplus. Use in conjunction with a fan speed control and capacitor in the simple speed control circuit discussed below. A rectifier accepts AC power input and outputs a slightly elevated voltage as DC. Your local Radio Shack may stock a suitable rectifier as well.

Offset Pin Arm. Motor shaft attachment of the Power Transmission 1 style. Shaft collar matching the motor's shaft diameter welded to a piece of 3/16" thick steel bar. 1/4-20 threaded holes for first arm attachment. Locks to the motor shaft with an Allen-head set screw, 6mm. Comes painted black. Select FIVE hole version (stroke lengths 2, 3, 4, 5, 5.25") or SEVEN hole version (stroke lengths 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8"). Specify shaft diameter (1/2", 5/8", or 3/4") if not ordered with a motor. Machined Aluminum Flywheel. This offset solution is identical to that on my Invader and Stallion commercial units, and is used with Power Transmission 2 style parts. 7" wheel has 6" maximum stroke and 11 total stroke lengths. 9" wheel has 8" maximum stroke and 15 positions. Holes are 3/8-16 threaded, and mate with the 3/8" first drive arm. Both versions are 3/4" thick and feature a 3/4" blind alignment hole on back side. Optional mount available, of welded steel. Wheels are sold without a final finish (unless you like the milled pattern, as shown).

This special edition Orgasm Alley flywheel is machined from solid aluminum and anodized a fine black finish. It provides a unique sliding, locking adjustment mechanism that positively adjusts every 1/4" from 2" to 8" stroke length. Adjustment is quick and easy thanks to the large hand knob. The sliding carriage unlocks with a single turn, and securely locks down again with one turn in the opposite direction. Indexed scale etched into the flywheel's face allow quick and easy repeatability. This flywheel is specific to a 5/8" motor shaft, and for use with the 3/8" first arm. Includes all hardware shown except the 3/8" rod end. Locks to shaft with set screw, included, which requires extra-long hex driver to apply (also included).

First Drive Arm. This item includes two ball-joint rod ends and a 12" length of threaded rod. The rod ends are 1/4-28 or 3/8-24 female threaded, with a 1/4" or 3/8" hole in the ball bearing. The 1/4" version is ideal for use with the offset pin arm and linear slide as seen in Power Transmission 1, and the 3/8" version works with the Invader/Stallion style components used in Power Transmission 2.

Linear Slide. This is an extra-heavy duty, three part ball bearing drawer slide, 14" or 16" long. Modification includes additional steel backbone mounting both dildo and drive arm attachment points. Excellent final drive arm, with 3/8-16 female threaded receiver for dildo attachment and 1/4-20 drive pin connector. Use with 3/8" dildo systems and 1/4" first drive arm. Select the 16" long slide for applications up to 8" maximum stroke length.

U-pivot. This welded steel component provides the connection between a 3/8" first drive arm and the 1/2" precision linear shaft. Approximately 1/2" of 14-20 threaded stud screws into tapped end of shaft. Appropriate bolt to attach rod end bearing is 3/8-16, 1" long, not included.

Linear Shaft. Case hardenned steel shaft, 1/2" diameter, 18" long, with 1/4-20 tapped holes at each end for simple connection. Use with 3/8" first drive arm, U-Pivot, and 1/4-20 dildo holder(s). This shaft is ideal for use with the linear bearings below, or other 1/2" ID bearings or bushings.

Linear Bearing with Pillow Block

Linear Bearing. For use with 1/2" precision linear shaft in the Power Transmission 2 style drive system. These double-length 1/2" ID ball or Frelon-lined bearings in machined aluminum pillow block(s) are simple to install and ideal for sex machine use. They should last forever when properly installed and used with linear shaft above. I don't recommend using one single length bearing in this application, although two singles spaced out provide the best possible strength. Mounts with four screws or bolts. When available, I offer refurbished surplus units with new bearing cartridges at $80... these may have some scratches or (frequently) an inventory number, either of which can be milled, filed, or sanded off it they disagree with you. When the refurbs run out, new units are $30 more expensive.

Locking Joint System

This pair of serrated discs work together to create a positive locking joint, as seen in the Black Magic frames and Stallion swinging arms. Very useful to the machine builder who can weld. Each half of the set is a steel disc machined with radial v-grooves every 6 degrees, providing 60 locking positions in a full rotation. Designed for a 3/8-16 threaded bolt, one side features a through hole and the other a threaded hole. Application requires reasonably precise welding to a steel base component.

Detachable Hand Control

Useful as a replacement or with (other) speed control hardware, this is the standard Orgasm Alley detachable hand control as used on most of my machines. Durable and attractive black plastic box features 5K speed pot with dial labelled 0 to 10, ON/OFF toggle switch, 10 foot cord, XLR male plug connector. Can ship with connectors stripped and tinned for use straight to speed control board upon request, as used on Probe and Mini Mite models.

XLR Connectors

XLR connectors are three conductor plugs and jacks used in professional grade microphone and similar audio equipment. They are easy to apply, but do require soldering. Each piece has a silver metal barrel, rubber strain relief, plastic core with conductors, and a small Philips screw that holds core to barrel (note that this screw is remarkably easy to lose!). Useful as a replacement part, or to turn an existing contiguous two- or three-conductor cord into a detachable cord. Male connector has pins that go in, female connector has holes that receive pins. Pins on each side are numbered 1, 2, and 3. OA machines use connection of Black = 1, White = 2, and Green = 3. Also available for builders is a female XLR panel jack, which secures into a 7/8" hole with two small screws.
